Polish Films at Rotterdam IFF

Three Polish films co-financed by the Polish Film Institute will screen at the 42nd Rotterdam International Film Festival, which runs from January 23 through February 3, 2013. The three films are: Nieulotne (Lasting) by Jacek Borcuch, Fuck For Forest by Michał Marczak, and Ixjana by Michał Skolimowski and Józef Skolimowski.

Nieulotne (Lasting) in Spectrum Section

Nieulotne (Lasting) is the second film from director Jacek Borcuch to be featured in the lineup of Rotterdam’s Spectrum section, which showcases films by experienced filmmakers who have had a significant impact on world cinema. In 2010, Rotterdam audiences had the opportunity to see Borcuch’s Wszystko, co kocham (All That I Love) along with Świnki (Piggies) by Robert Gliński, while in 2009 the Spectrum lineup featured 33 sceny z życia (33 Scenes from Life) by Małgorzata Szumowska. The Rotterdam screening of Nieulotne (Lasting) will mark the film’s European premiere.

Fuck For Forest and Ixjana in Bright Future Section

The Bright Future section of the Rotterdam festival promotes new talent, first- and second-time directors. This year’s lineup will feature two Polish films, both co-financed by the Polish Film Institute: the documentary Fuck For Forest by Michał Marczak, and the feature Ixjana by Michał Skolimowski and Józef Skolimowski. The Rotterdam screening of Fuck For Forest will mark the film’s international premiere. In 2010, the Bright Future lineup featured the feature film Zero by Paweł Borowski, also co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.

Rotterdam International Film Festival
