Polish Films In The 24th Busan IFF





Polish films and co-productions co-financed by the Polish Film Institute were included in the program of the 24th International Film Festival in Busan (3-12.10.2019).

“Mr Jones” in the “Icons” section

In the “Icons” section, Agnieszka Holland’s latest film “Mr Jones” will be shown. The film’s world premiere took place this year at Berlinale. The film is expected to appear in Polish cinemas in October.

“Corpus Christi” and “Sole” in the “World Cinema” section

The “World Cinema” section will show, among others, the latest film by Jan Komasa “Corpus Christi”, which premiere took place recently at the 76th International Film Festival in Venice. The film will hit Polish cinemas on October 11. Another title co-financed by the Polish Film Institute in this section is “Sole” directed by Carlo Sironi with Sandra Drzymalska in the lead role (premiere at the 76th Venice IFF in the Orizzonti competition).

In the same section a Latvian film “Oleg” by Juris Kursietis will be shown, starring Polish actors Dawid Ogrodnik, Anna Próchniak and Adam Szyszkowski. Bogumił Godfrejów was the author of the cinematography.

Asian Film Market 

Asian Film Market has been accompanying the festival in Busan since 2006. The Polish Film Institute will support the participation of up to 5 selected Polish producers currently working on the film project.
