POLISH WOMEN RANKED AMONG THE 50 MOST INFLUENTIAL WOMEN IN GLOBAL CINEMA

Marynia Gierat, head of Krakow’s Kino Pod Baranami and Kinga Dołęga-Lesińska, head of KinAds, are among the Top 50 Women in Global Cinema – 2017.

Kinga Dołęga-Lesińska and Marynia Gierat Ranked Among Top 50 Women in Global Cinema

Celluloid Junkie published its second edition of the list of the most influential women in global cinema, expanding from the previous 25 to 50. The list features the names of some of the most creative and inspiring industry leaders. Ranked 38th is Kinga Dołęga-Lesińska, head of KinAds, and in 44th place is Marynia Gierat, head of Kino Pod Baranami in Krakow.

By including Kinga Dołęga-Lesińska on the list, the Celluloid Junkie team noted that Poland is Central Europe’s fastest growing cinema market. KinAds was noted for its effective strategy thanks to its various promotions and schemes that seek to make cinema advertising fresh and relevant.

44. Marynia Gierat, Kino Pod Baranami

Kino Pod Baranami headed by Marynia Gierat was dubbed Poland’s most innovative arthouse cinema. The cinema has previously received top honours from the Polish Film Institute and Europa Cinemas. The Celluloid Junkie team recognised Marynia Gierat’s countless audience initiatives and broad selection of world cinema.

Marynia Gierat was previously featured by Celluloid Junkie in 2016 in 40 Under 40, a list of 40 influential young people working in the European film industry. The list has also been published in a special edition of the Box Office Magazine CineEurope 2016.
