Premiere set for "Wszystko" ("Everything"), a film financed via Internet contributions

A premiere is set for 7 July at Warsaw’s Muranów cinema for Wszystko, a unique film financed by contributions gathered via the Internet.

“This film is a short, unromantic, and very ironic comedy,” says director Artur Wyrzykowski. “It’s a story of first love, honest and true, but delightfully simple-minded and clumsy.” The cast included rising stars of Polish cinema such as Mateusz Banasiuk, Marta Żmuda-Trzebiatowska, Antoni Pawlicki, and Michał Koterski.

The director financed the film by establishing a website where he presented the script and storyboard and asked for contributions. Those who gave money have been designated “co-producers” who will be listed in the closing credits and will receive the film on DVD. The project also was endorsed by Agnieszka Odorowicz, General Director of the Polish Film Institute, who explained her priority is to support young filmmakers, including those who use non-standard approaches to produce films.

The action attracted 688 contributors who gave a total of PLN 28,000, while the Polish Film Institute awarded PLN 20,000. Wyrzykowski used the funds for shooting, editing and preparing the first, raw version of the film on digital tape.

Cinema screenings will be shown on 35 mm tape, to facilitate professional distribution of the film. At a special website, www.ChceZobaczycWszystko.net, one can sign up to see the film in his/her city.
