"Rabbit à la Berlin" qualifies for DocuWeeks

Polish-German co-production Rabbit à la Berlin (Królik po berlińsku) by Bartek Konopka and Piotr Rosołowski will be screened during the prestigious DocuWeeks event in New York.

Rabbit à la Berlin will be shown at this special cinema event for the world’s best documentaries mainly owing to the director’s efforts, support from the Polish Film Institute, and intense involvement by the creators.

The film will be screened in the short documentaries section (up to 40 minutes), along with nine other titles from around the world. The event is organised annually by the International Documentary Association (IDA) in cinemas in Los Angeles and New York. Participation in DocuWeeks makes films eligible to compete for a nomination to the American Film Academy Awards.

Rabbit à la Berlin is an example of how agencies in two countries can develop a successful co-production. It was developed through the awarding in Berlin of a scholarship under the Nipkow Programme for film and television professionals, and through cooperation with the Ex Oriente programme of workshops and the Discovery Campus Masterschool for TV documentary-makers.

The film was produced with the support the Polish Film Institute, the European MEDIA Programme, and the Andrzej Wajda Master School of Film Directing.
