Recognition for Polish Documentaries

Films by Marcin Janos Krawczyk, Bartek Konopka and Anna Kazejak earned recognition at the East Silver International Film Market, which takes place annually as part of the Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival.


Six Weeks by Marcin Janos Krawczyk received the Silver Eye award for Best Short Documentary. The jury members were: Danielle Di Giacomo (Tribeca Gucci Fund and IFP), Catherine Le Clef (representative of the French distribution company CAT&Docs) and Jenny Ross (Al Jazeera English).

 

The Silver Eye award for Best Mid-Length Documentary went to Rabbit à la Berlin by Bartek Konopka. Sidetrack by Anna Kazejak was recognized in the same category. The jury members were Charlotte Gry Madsen (DR – Danish Broadcasting Corp.), Philippa Kowarsky (representative of the Israeli distribution company Cinephil) and Charles Schuerhof (PBS International).

 

The Silver Eye awards are handed out annually by an international jury of foreign distributors, representatives of TV stations and festival programmers.

 

This year, 33 documentaries were nominated in three categories. Among them were six Polish films (all of which were promoted through Polish Docs).
