Retrospective by Agnieszka Holland in New York

Agnieszka Holland’s films will be shown in the Museum of Modern Art in New York from 10 December 2008 to 5 January 2009.

MoMA will screen all aspects of Holland’s films, from those produced in Poland such as A Woman Alone (Kobieta samotna) and Provincial Actors (Aktorzy prowincjalni), through films that brought her great success, such as Europa, Europa and Całkowite zaćmienie (Total Eclipse), up to her film series The Wire. Some of her earlier films have never been shown in the USA.

The retrospective will be preceded by screenings on 2 December of A Woman Alone and on 10 December of Copying Beethoven (Kopia mistrza), To Kill a Priest (Zabić księdza) and Third Miracle (Trzeci cud).

The review is jointly organised by the Polish Film Institute, the Polish Filmmakers Association, the National Archives, the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, and the Polish Film Festival in New York.
