The first titles in the lineup of the upcoming 48th Chicago International Film Festival have been announced. One of the films to screen at this festival is Bez wstydu (Shameless), directed by Filip Marczewski and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute. The Chicago International Film Festival runs from October 11 through October 25.

Shameless: One of the Most Anticipated Films

 

The screening of Bez wstydu (Shameless) at the Chicago International Film Festival will mark the film’s American premiere. Shameless will screen in the New Directors competition. “Our lineup features brilliant new films from directors such as Abbas Kiarostami, Leos Carax, Bille August and Cristian Mungiu, alongside exciting projects by first-time filmmakers from around the world,” said Mimi Plauch, programming director of the Chicago International Film Festival. The complete lineup of the 48th International Film Festival will be announced in mid-September.

 

Most recently, Filip Marczewski’s Bez wstydu (Shameless) was also chosen as one of the ten best films of this year’s Karlovy Vary film festival by IndieWIRE.

Polish Films in Chicago

The lineup of last year’s edition of the Chicago International Film Festival featured six films co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, including Kret (The Mole) by Rafael Lewandowski and Jeż Jerzy (Jeż Jerzy: The Movie) by Wojtek Wawszczyk, Jakub Tarkowski and Tomasz Leśniak. Two years ago, Erratum by Marek Lechki received the Gold Plaque award, the third most important award for first-time filmmakers at the Chicago International Film Festival.
