Show your film in Warsaw

Films can now be submitted online for participation in the 33rd edition of Warsaw Film Festival.

Warsaw Film Festival

For 8 years, Warsaw Film Festival has been a part of the elite group of events recognized by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations along with the international film festivals in Cannes, Berlin, Venice, Locarno or San Sebastian. Since 1985, organizers do their best to make sure that their international audience gets to see the most original, groundbreaking films, which mirror the latest and most interesting trends in Polish and world cinema.

Organizers are looking for intriguing stories and fascinating characters, presented by exceptional filmmakers who are willing to share their unique point of view.

Become a part of a Warsaw event, just like some of the most incredible directors working today: Michael Haneke, Lenny Abrahamson, Ashgar Farhadi, Cristian Mungiu or Paweł Pawlikowski, who had all been guests of Warsaw Film Festival before they reached the top.

Five competitive sections

Films can now be submitted for pre-selection to participate in the 33rd edition of Warsaw Film Festival for all of the five competitive sections: International Competition, 1-2 Competition, Free Spirit Competition, Documentary Competition and Short Films Competition, as well as the five non-competitive sections: Special Screenings, Family Cinema Weekend, Discoveries, Polish Classics and Best Shorts From Poland. Apart from the awards granted by the Juries of the competitive sections, there is also a FIPRESCI Prize, Ecumenical Jury Award, NETPAC Award, Young FIPRESCI Jury and the one and only Audience Award. Winners of the best narrative, documentary and animated shorts are eligible for the Academy Awards®.

Warsaw Film Festival is more than just films. It’s also FIPRESCI Warsaw Critics Project workshops for young film journalists and critics, while young filmmakers can participate in the Warsaw Next workshops. This year, for the very first time, organizers will collaborate with the Polish Film Institute on organizing Warsaw Industry Days: the industry event which will follow in the footsteps of the CentEast Market and take place from 19-21st October 2017.

Feature films submitted for pre-selection will be accepted until 31st July 2017. This year’s edition of Warsaw Film Festival will be held from 13 – 22nd October 2017.

All information regarding the general rules and regulations of participation, the rules and regulations of the different sections and the online submission form can be found on the Festival website: www.wff.pl.
