"Sweet Rush" by Andrzej Wajda at the main competition in Berlin

A great success for Polish Cinema! Sweet Rush (Tatarak), the latest film by Andrzej Wajda, qualified for the main competition at the 59th Berlin International Film Festival.

Sweet Rush is the first Polish film in years to qualify for the main competition at Berlinale, one of the most important film festivals in the world. In 2001, the film Weiser by Wojciech Marczewski was shown during the competition, and in 2005, Jam Session by Izabela Plucińska was screened.

The 59th Berlin International Film Festival will take place from 5-15 February. This year 26 films were selected; the list will soon be announced.
