The Dark and Silent Ones Awarded in Houston

The Dark and Silent Ones (My, Cichociemni) by Paweł Kędzierski received the Platinum Remi Award for Best Film&Video Documentary at the independent film festival in Houston.

Organized annually since 1961, this event is one of the world’s oldest independent film festivals. The name of the Remi award honours Frederick Remington (1861-1909), an American painter, sculptor and illustrator, known for his works on the American Old West.

With hundreds of projects in various competition and non-competition sections, the Houston festival is one of the largest film events in the US.

Paweł Kędzierski and his film are also well-known to the audiences of the Polish Film Festival in Los Angeles that took place from April 22nd to May 3rd. The Dark and Silent Ones was screened at the Egyptian Theatre and, at the request of Polish residents of Orange Country, at the Santa Ana cinema. Both screenings were sold out and brought extremely emotional and tearful reactions from the audiences.

The film was produced by WFDiF in cooperation with Fundacja Filmowa Armii Krajowej and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
