The Magic Tree Awarded in Chicago

The Magic Tree by Andrzej Maleszka received a special prize known as the Rights of the Child Award at the 26th Chicago International Children’s Film Festival, which ended on November 1.

The special prize known as the 2009 Best of Fest Award went to From Time to Time (United Kingdom) by Julian Fellowes.

The Children’s Jury awarded A Shine of Rainbows by Vic Sarin (Canada), The Letter for the King by Pieter Verhoeff (Netherlands), Lioness of Lisabi by Vlady Valentin Oszkiel (USA), Bronx Princess by Yoni Brook and Musa Syeed (USA), Lost and Found by Philip Hunt (United Kingdom) and Hot by Edvard Granum Dillner (Norway).

Almost 200 films from 40 countries were screened at the festival.
