"THE TOUCH OF AN ANGEL" AT INPUT IN JAPAN
Dotknięcie Anioła (The Touch of an Angel), a documentary film directed by Marek Tomasz Pawłowski and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, will be the only project from Poland to screen at the 2015 INPUT Conference in Japan.
The Only Polish Project at 2015 INPUT
The documentary Dotknięcie Anioła (The Touch of an Angel) was selected for screening at the conference from among 250 television programmes and films submitted by broadcasters from all continents. The Polish documentary is one of 78 television films from 32 countries around the world that will be screened for the international audience at this year’s INPUT Conference.

Dotknięcie Anioła (The Touch of an Angel) is a poetic documentary about Henryk Schoenker, a Jew based in Oświęcim (the town where the Auschwitz concentration camp was located), who poses a number of difficult questions: Could the Holocaust have had a different outcome? Was there an opportunity to save thousands of Silesian Jews at Auschwitz, before the concept of the most barbarous of death camps was ever born? Henryk Schoenker, son of the last leader of the Jewish community in Oświęcim, reveals the unknown story of the tragic chance for Jewish emigration — the Bureau for Jewish Emigration to Palestine. With his head held high, Schoenker boldly states why this plan failed and why thousands of people perished in the gas chambers of Auschwitz instead of being saved.
The film brings to life the concept of the ‘archicollage.’ This original idea by director Marek Pawłowski and graphic designer Robert Manowski is a new artistic way of recalling historic events.
A Polish-German Co-Production Supported by the Polish Film Institute
Dotknięcie Anioła (The Touch of an Angel) is a Polish-German co-production between Telewizja Polska and Westdeutscher Rundfunk, with financial support from the Polish Film Institute, the Foundation for Polish-German Co-Operation, and Media Brussels. The film’s leading producer is Zoyda Art Production.

As such, INPUT is one of the conferences that not only outline the directions of programming of broadcasters around the world, but also contribute to improving the quality standards of programme production. Organized annually in May, the INPUT Conference features presentations and discussions on a selection of the best, most interesting, and most compelling programmes and films produced by television broadcasters around the world. The screenings and discussions are attended by hundreds of filmmakers, journalists and producers representing over 60 public broadcasters from all continents.
