Watch Docs Starts December 4

The 9th International Watch Docs Film Festival – Human Rights in Film, taking place in Warsaw on December 4-13, will bring the world’s best documentaries dedicated to the issues of human rights.

19 films will compete for the Watch Docs award this year. Apart from the competition, the festival programme will feature several sections: “The Discreet Charm of Propaganda”, “Close-Ups” focusing on post-Soviet states and “I Want to See”, featuring documentaries on current events.

In addition, the festival will feature two retrospective sections: “Money Does Well”, devoted to the ties between money, power, and human rights violations, and “Hidden Camera”, showing subversive “anti-national” documentaries, often made without the knowledge or consent of national authorities.
