The Story of Daniel

Kiedyś będziemy szczęśliwi (We Will Be Happy One Day) is the story of a boy from Lipiny, the poorest district in all of Silesia. The boy, Daniel Furmaniak, wants a different life for himself. He starts making a film about his neighbourhood, using a mobile phone camera. He asks his peers about their dreams. Who would they like to be in the future? Will these teenagers have a chance to fulfill their dreams? Will reality interfere with their plans? Is there any point to having dreams? Paweł Wysoczański’s documentary has been recognized at international film festivals, winning awards at the Documenta Madrid festival in Spain, the Docudays festival in Ukraine, and the Reykjavik Shorts&Docs Festival in Iceland.
