"Yodok Stories" by Andrzej Fidyk nominated for Joris Ivens Competition

The latest film by Andrzej Fidyk, Yodok Stories, was nominated for the Joris Ivens Competition together with two other documentaries at the 21st IDFA International Documentary Film Festival. This award is often described as a Documentary Oscar.

 

Yodok Stories, which was produced for TVP (Polish Television), is the second film about North Korea by Fidyk after The Parade (Defilada). His latest film is about former prisoners from the concentration camp Yodok who managed to escape to Seoul.

The main prize was granted to Burma VJ: Reporting from a Closed Country by Anders Ostergaard.

The festival ended on 30 November.
