Nomination for Golden Globe

Polish composer Abel Korzeniowski received a Golden Globe nomination for his score to A Single Man, directed by Tom Ford. The complete list of nominations was announced yesterday.


Abel Korzeniowski, 37, graduated from the Music Academy in Krakow (cello and composition). He has written music for a number of films, including Big Animal (Duże zwierzę) and Tomorrow’s Weather (Pogoda na jutro) by Jerzy Stuhr and Anioł w Krakowie by Artur Więcek. Winner of many awards at the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia and others.

The 67th annual Golden Globe awards ceremony (the world’s second key film awards after the Oscars) will be held on January 17, 2010. This year’s contenders include James Cameron’s Avatar, Kathryn Bigelow’s The Hurt Locker, Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds, Lee Daniels’ Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire, and Jason Reitman’s Up in the Air.
