Voting commences on November 13 and runs through the end of November. Winners will be announced on December 5 at the awards gala at the Paramount Theater in Los Angeles.

Obiekt (Object)

Produced within the framework of the ‘First Documentary’ programme, Paulina Skibińska’s film premiered in January at Sundance and went on to screen at almost fifty other international film festivals around the world. The film received the Special Jury Award in Sundance, and special mention in Tampere, Vilnius, and in Slovakia. In Nashville, Obiekt (Object) received the special prize, followed by the Camden Cartel Award for best short film at the Camden Film Festival, which closed at the end of September. Obiekt (Object) has also been released theatrically in the United States, the Netherlands, and Japan.

Obiekt (Object) shows an underwater search and rescue operation that takes place in two worlds: ice desert and under water. The story is told from the point of view of the rescue team, of the diver entering the underwater realm, and of the ordinary people waiting on the shore.
