Polish Animations Awarded

Two Polish animations co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, Toto by Zbigniew Czapla and Łaźnia (Baths) by Tomasz Ducki, received awards at prestigious international animated film festivals in Europe.

Toto Wins in Amsterdam

The winner of the award for Best Short Animated film at the 6th KLIK! Amsterdam Short Film Festival was Toto, a film by Zbigniew Czapla. Jury members Kees Driessen, Sylvain Quément and Vanja Hraste recognized the Polish film among a selection of 152 short films. Zbigniew Czapla’s Toto previously received awards in Egypt (16th Ismailia International Film Festival), Russia (23rd Message to Man International Film Festival), and Frane (13th Un festival c’est trop court).

Łaźnia (Baths) Awarded in Portugal

The award for Best Short Film Under Five Minutes at the 37th CINANIMA International Animated Film Festival in Espinho (Portugal), which closed on November 17, went to Łaźnia (Baths), a film by Tomasz Ducki. Jury members included Álvaro Silveira, Pedro Brito and Jadwiga Kowalska. Łaźnia (Baths) previously screened at DOK Leipzig, and received an award at the 11th Fantoche International Animation Film Festival in Switzerland.
