Polish Animations Awarded in Egypt

Polish animated films received two awards at the 16th Ismaila International Festival for Documentaries & Shorts in Egypt. The event ran from June 4 through June 9.

 

Jury members Michèle Driguez, Chadi Zeneddine and Sherif El Bendary gave the Best Animated Film award to Zbigniew Czapla’s Toto, and gave Special Mention to the Polish animated film Danse Macabre by Małgorzata Rżanek. The award for Best Feature Documentary went to the Lebanese production A World Not Ours by Mahdi Fleifel. The festival lineup also featured two other films co-financed by the Polish Film Institute: Gdzie jest Sonia? (Where Is Sonia?) by Radka Franczak and Arbuz (Watermelon) by Tato Kotetishvili.
