Polish Days: Call for Film Projects

May 31 is the application deadline for the second edition of Polish Days, which will take place during the 13th T-Mobile New Horizons International Film Festival in Wrocław.

Polish Days consist of pitching sessions and industry screenings of the latest Polish films; it is the key industry event of the T-Mobile New Horizons International Film Festival. It is aimed at showcasing Polish projects for representatives of the international film industry.

The first edition of Polish Days took place at the 12th New Horizons IFF in 2012. The lineup featured screenings of seven new Polish films, including Jesteś Bogiem (You’re a God) by Leszek Dawid, Mój rower (My Father’s Bike) by Piotr Trzaskalski, and Wirtualna wojna (Man at War) by Jacek Bławut, as well as works in progress, including Wałęsa by Andrzej Wajda, Kongres (The Congress) by Ari Folman, Papusza (Papusza) by Joanna Kos-Krauze and Krzysztof Krauze, and Chce się żyć (The Will to Live) by Maciej Pieprzyca. The pitching sessions featured the latest projects by Andrzej Żuławski (Ciemna materia / Dark Matter), Bartek Konopka (Niemy / The Mute), Magnus von Horn (Po śmierci / The Hereafter), and Wojtek Wawszczyk (Diplodok / Diplodocus).

The event had a total of 190 participants. Among them were festival programmers from Cannes, Berlin, Rotterdam, Tribeca, Karlovy Vary, Edinburgh, Hong Kong, and Gothenburg, as well as sales agents (including Les Films du Losange, Hanway, MK2 and Intramovies), distributors (Wild Bunch, Epicentre, Soda Pictures, Neue Visionen, Urban Distribution, Gutek Film) and TV buyers (including TVP and Polsat).

The second edition of Polish Days

The second edition of Polish Days will run from July 24 through July 26, 2013 within the framework of the 13th T-Mobile New Horizons IFF (July 18-28, 2013). The festival team expects approximately 200 participants from Poland and abroad.

The call for applications is now open through the online application form (applications in English only).

The call for applications is open until May 31, 2013. Producers will receive feedback about the list of selected projects by June 15, 2013.

Polish Days are organized in partnership with the City of Wrocław, the Polish Film Institute, Film Commission Poland, and the Festivalscope website.
