Polish delegation at the Nordisk Panorama Forum

Although the Nordisk Panorama Forum is an event related to the financing of documentary films from the Nordic countries, each year the organizers invite one delegation from a country outside their circle. In 2021 – for the second time in history – a group of filmmakers from Poland was invited. What does this mean for them?

The Polish Docs PRO delegation will be joined by both directors and producers of documentary films. The latter were invited, among others at Producers Meet Producers – co-production meetings with partners from the Nordic region. Participants will present their previous achievements and new projects, and then they will get the opportunity to establish contacts with Scandinavian representatives of film funds, TV stations, film institutes and distribution companies.

The participants of the Nordisk Panorama Forum will include the authors of 10 Polish productions: „Lili” (dir. Sylwia Rosak, prod. Katarzyna Kuczyńska), „Wielomiłość” (dir. Joanna Ratajczak, prod. Stanisław Zaborowski), „The Ultimate Joker” (dir. Krzysztof Dzięciołowski, produced by Agata Jujeczka), „Friends, Faggots” (dir. Alex Baczyński-Jenkins, produced by Ivo Krankowski), „Simona” (dir. And produced by Natalia Koryncka-Gruz), „Arcowski” (dir. Katarzyna Dąbkowska, produced by Ewa Żukowska), „Zaraza” (dir. Monika Kotecka, produced by Marta Szymanowska), „Girls stories””(dir. Aga Borzym, produced by Agnieszka Rostropowicz-Rutkowska), „13th base” (dir. Paweł Hejbudzki, produced by Wojciech Karubin) and „When the wind is silent” (directed by Mateusz Gołębiewski, produced by Małgorzata Prociak).

The organizer of the delegation is the Krakow Film Foundation.

Two Polish films and two Polish animations

Two Polish projects will be presented at the international pitching: „Lili” and „Wielomiłość”.

The first, produced by Haka Films, tells the story and reflections of 8-year-old Lili who shares her life between her two parents. The second, created by Silver Frame, tells the story of a couple with 15 years of experience in which he wants to open up relationships with other partners, and she agrees to this experiment for the sake of love.

During the Nordisk Panorama Forum, short film pitching will also be organized. In this case, Poland will be represented  by animated films: „Gonave” (dir. Róża Duda and Michał Soja, produced by Aneta Zagórska) and „I’m gone now” (dir. and produced by Nawojka Wierzbowska). The event will take place in the second half of September. The initiative is co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
