Polish Documentaries at Camerimage

The lineup of all sections of the 19th Plus Camerimage International Festival of the Art of Cinematography in Bydgoszcz has been announced. This year a total of eight Polish documentaries co-financed by the Polish Film Institute will screen in competition.

A Celebration of the Art of Cinematography

Plus Camerimage is one of the world’s leading festivals dedicated to the art of the film image. Festival sections include the Main Competition, where the accomplishments of DOPs are judged, and the Student Film Competition. The Plus Camerimage lineup also features an international Documentary Film Competition. This competition is divided into two sections: the short film category, and the feature-length film category.

Feature-Length Documentary Film Competition

This year, two Polish films will be among the twelve pictures competing for the Golden Frog award, the Grand Prize of the Feature-Length Documentary Film Competition: Lekarze (Doctors) by Tomasz Wolski (who also acted as director of photography), and Kołysanka z Phnom Penh (Phnom Penh Lullaby) by Paweł Kloc (director of photography: Przemysław Niczyporuk). Short Documentary Film Competition

Poland is also well-represented in the Short Documentary Film Competition. Screening in competition are:

• 38.5, directed by Grzegorz Dębowski (director of photography: Yori Fabian);
• Argentyńska lekcja (Argentinian Lesson), directed by Wojciech Staroń (director of photography: Wojciech Staroń);
• Decrescendo, directed by Marta Minorowicz (director of photography: Paweł Chorzępa);
• Paparazzi, directed by Piotr Bernaś (directors of photography: Piotr Bernaś, Łukasz Żal);
• Kiedyś będziemy szczęśliwi, directed by Paweł Wysoczański (director of photography: Dominik Górski);
• Co się wydarzyło na Wyspie Pam, directed by Eliza Kubarska (directors of photography: Łukasz Gutt, David Kaszlikowski, Eliza Kubarska)
