Polish Film Screenings in Istanbul

Until 27th of December at Pera Museum in Istanbul will take place the screenings of the Polish films.

600th anniversary of Polish-Turkish diplomatic relations

The event is organized as part of the 2014 cultural programme, celebrating the 600th anniversary of Polish-Turkish diplomatic relations.The selection spans across a variety of themes, among them: “Wanted and desired. Roman Polański”; “Darkness Remains: Agnieszka Holland “; “Orientalism in Polish Cinema ” and “Contemporary Polish Cinema”, bringing together some of the most interesting and recent titles, including the ones rewarded by international festivals. The selection is put together by Polish film critic, Janusz Wróblewski and film curator from Pera Museum in Istanbul, Fatma Colakoglu.

Films supported by the Polish Film Institute in the line-up

Among the films are presented Polish productions co-financed by the Polish Film Institute: Daas by Adrian Panek, W ciemności (In Darkness) by Agnieszka Holland, Papusza by Joanna Kos-Krauze and Krzysztof Krauze, 33 sceny z życia (33 Scenes from Life) by Małgorzata Szumowska, Płynące wieżowce (Floating Skyscrapers) by Tomasz Wasilewski, Sala Samobójców (Suicide Room) by Jan Komasa, Chce się żyć (Life Feels Good) by Maciej Pieprzyca, Jesteś Bogiem (You Are God) by Leszek Dawid, Nieulotne (Lasting Moments) by Jacek Borcuch, Matka Teresa od kotów (Mother Teresa of Cats) by Paweł Sala and Sztuczki (Tricks) by Andrzej Jakimowski.
