Polish Films at 17th Black Nights IFF

Several Polish films co-financed by the Polish Film Institute are featured in the lineup of the 17th Black Nights International Film Festival (PÖFF), which runs from November 15 through December 1, 2013 in Tallinn.

Chce się żyć (Life Feels Good) in Tridens Competition

Chce się żyć (Life Feels Good), a film directed by Maciej Pieprzyca and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, has been selected for screening in the Tridens Herling Competition (formerly Baltic Sea), which showcases feature films by first- and second-time directors from Baltic and Nordic countries. This year’s Tridens Herling Competition screens a total of twelve films from eleven countries.

Bejbi Blues (Baby Blues) and Nieulotne (Lasting) in ‘Just Film’ Section

The festival’s ‘Just Film’ section, featuring films for children and young adults, will feature two Polish films, both co-financed by the Polish Film Institute: Bejbi Blues (Baby Blues) by Katarzyna Rosłaniec and Nieulotne (Lasting) by Jacek Borcuch.

Other Festival Sections

This year’s Black Nights lineup also features Papusza by Joanna Kos-Krauze and Krzysztof Krauze (’17 Films’ section), Ida by Paweł Pawlikowski (Forum), and Dróżnik (The Railway Watchman) by Piotr Szczepanowicz (animation competition). The festival’s Panorama section will include Lost Senses by Marcin Wasilewski, On/Off by Piotr Ludwik, and The Congress by Ari Folman.
