Polish Films at 19th Vilnius IFF

Several Polish films co-financed by the Polish Film Institute will screen in competition and out of competition at the 19th “Kino Pavasaris” International Film Festival, which runs from March 20 through April 3, 2014 in Vilnius.

Competition Sections

The festival’s main competition “New Europe – New Names” showcases films from the Baltic region and the Balkans; the competition lineup features Dziewczyna z szafy (The Girl from the Wardrobe), a film directed by Bodo Kox. The lineup of the festival’s new competition “Baltic Gaze” features Ida by Paweł Pawlikowski and Chce się żyć (Life Feels Good) by Maciej Pieprzyca.

 

Other Festival Sections

Polish films will also screen in the festival’s out of competition sections. Vilnius audiences will have an opportunity to see Roman Polański’s Venus in Fur (Masters section), Ari Folman’s The Congress (Critics’ Choice), and Powrót Agnieszki H. (The Return of Agnieszka H.), a documentary film directed by Krystyna Krauze and Jacek Petrycki (Documentaries. Portraits).
