Polish Films at 2015 FebioFest

Several films co-financed by the Polish Film Institute will screen at the FebioFest film festival in Prague, which runs in the Czech capital from March 19 through March 27.

Special Section: Poland 44

The Poland 44 section of the festival was created in cooperation with the Polish Institute in Prague to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. Audiences will have an opportunity to see several recent Polish films, such as Miasto 44 (Warsaw 44) by Jan Komasa, Kamienie na szaniec (Stones for the Rampart) by Robert Gliński and Powstanie Warszawskie (Warsaw Uprising), as well as a number of classic Polish films, such as Kanał (The Canal) by Andrzej Wajda, Eroica by Andrzej Munk, and Akcja pod Arsenałem by Jan Łomnicki.

World Cinema Panorama

This section features three Polish films, alongside 17 other films from around the world. FebioFest audiences will have an opportunity to see Obce ciało (Foreign Body) by Krzysztof Zanussi, Bogowie (Gods) by Łukasz Palkowski, and Pod Mocnym Aniołem (The Mighty Angel) by Wojciech Smarzowski.

Polish Films in Other Sections

The lineup of the festival’s Focus on Holland section features Strefa nagości (Nude Area), a film directed by Urszula Antoniak, made as a co-production between the Netherlands and Poland. The Latin America Panorama features Refugiado, a film directed by Diego Lerman and lensed by Polish cinematographer Wojciech Staroń. This film is currently screening in Polish cinemas. Distribution in Poland is handled by the New Horizons Association.
