POLISH FILMS AT 2015 VISIONS DU REEL

On April 1, the complete lineup of the Visions du Reel International Film Festival was announced. The festival lineup features several films co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.

Polish Films in Festival Lineup

Dom na głowie (House on Its Head) by Adam Palenta, Casa Blanca by Aleksandra Maciuszek, Pieśń pamięci (Singing in Exile) by Nathalie Rossetti and Turi Finocchiaro, Gniazdo (Habitat) by Arjun Talwar and Oliver Krüger, and Badjao. Duchy z morza (Walking Under Water) by Eliza Kubarska — these are the films that Visions du Reel audiences will have an opportunity to see.

The Visions du Reel festival has been organized annually since 1969. In its early editions in Nyon, the festival featured mostly Swiss productions and films from the Eastern bloc countries that were otherwise almost completely unavailable for Western European audiences. Today, Visions du Reel is one of the largest documentary film festivals in Europe.

The Festival Runs from April 17 to April 25

The audience at this year’s edition of Visions du Reel, which runs from April 17 to April 25, will have an opportunity to see a total of five Polish documentary films. Two of them will compete for awards in the festival’s competition sections: Adam Palenta’s Dom na głowie (House on Its Head) will screen in the International Short Film Competition, while Aleksandra Maciuszek’s Casa Blanca will screen in the International Medium-Length Film Competition. Gniazdo (Habitat) by Arjun Talwar and Oliver Krüger has been selected to screen in the non-competitive Premiers Pas section, while Pieśń pamięci (Singing in Exile) by Nathalie Rossetti and Turi Finocchiaro will screen in the Grand Angle panel. Eliza Kubarska’s Badjao. Duchy z morza (Walking Under Water) will screen in Nyon within the framework of the DocAlliance spring tour.
