Polish Films at Mannheim IFF

Two Polish films: Bez wstydu (Shameless) by Filip Marczewski and W sypialni (In the Bedroom) by Tomasz Wasilewski will screen in International Competition at the 61st Mannheim-Heidelberg International Film Festival, which runs from November 8 through November 18, 2012.

Shameless and In the Bedroom in Awards Run

Bez wstydu (Shameless) by Filip Marczewski, co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, and W sypialni (In the Bedroom) by Tomasz Wasilewski, will screen in International Competition at the 61st Mannheim-Heidelberg International Film Festival, competing for the awards against 17 other feature debut films from around the world. The Heidelberg screenings will mark the German premiere for both films.

Krzysztof Kieślowski Retrospective

Another Polish element of this year’s festival will be the Krzysztof Kieślowski retrospective. German audiences will have an opportunity to see Krótki film o miłości (A Short Film About Love), Przypadek (Blind Chance), and the Three Colours trilogy.

Mannheim-Heidelberg Film Festival

The Mannheim-Heidelberg International Film Festival is one of the most prestigious festivals dedicated to films by first-time directors. For years, this festival has been the place that launched the careers of some of the world’s best directors, including Jim Jarmusch, Thomas Vinterberg, Wim Wenders, and Francois Truffaut.
