Polish Films at Sofia Film Festival

The lineup of the 17th Sofia International Film Festival features a number of Polish films, including several films co-financed by the Polish Film Institute. The festival runs from March 7 through March 17, 2013.

Films Supported by the Polish Films Institute in Festival Lineup

Audiences of the 17th Sofia IFF will have an opportunity to see five Polish films. In addition to the 1986 Polish-Bulgarian co-production Pięć kobiet na tle morza (Five Women Against the Sea), directed by Vladislav Ikonomov, this year’s festival lineup also features the animated film Czerwony papierowy stateczek (The Little Red Paper Ship) by Aleksandra Zaręba. The “Cinema Today – Masters” section showcases three films co-financed by the Polish Film Institute: W ciemności (In Darkness) by Agnieszka Holland, Ve stinu (Polish title: W cieniu, English title: In the Shadow) by David Ondříček, and Imagine by Andrzej Jakimowski.
