Polish Films in Germany

Two films co-financed by the Polish Film Institute – W imię… (In the Name Of…) by Małgorzata Szumowska and Zimowy ojciec (Wintertochter) by Johannes Schmid – will screen at the International Women’s Film Festival in Dortmund|Cologne, which runs from April 9 through April 14, 2013.

W imię… (In the Name Of…) in Feature Film Competition

W imię… (In the Name Of…) by Małgorzata Szumowska will screen in the festival’s International Feature Film Competition. This will be yet another addition to the film’s list of international screenings. To date, In the Name Of… has screened at Berlinale, the Hong Kong IFF, and the Istanbul IFF. The film was also featured in the lineup of the goEast festival.

Zimowy ojciec (Wintertochter)

Audiences of the International Women’s Film Festival Dortmund|Cologne will also have an opportunity to see the Polish-German co-production Zimowy ojciec (Wintertochter), directed by Johannes Schmid. In 2012, this film received the ‘Golden Lola’ German Film Award in the Best Children’s Film category.

Both films were co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
