Polish Films in India

The 43rd International Film Festival of India will run from November 20 through November 30, 2012. The festival’s FilmBazaar market will feature a number of Polish-Indian film projects. The festival lineup features several Polish films co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.

Polish-Indian Projects at FilmBazaar

The FilmBazaar market will run from November 21 through November 24, 2012 within the framework of the International Film Festival of India. FilmBazaar is a film market for film projects from around the world. These include several Polish-Indian co-productions: Dzieci Jam Saheba by Magdalena Łazarkiewicz, Idgah by Piyush C. Panjuani, Re:Paradise by Piotr Trzaskalski, and Survivors of Balachadi by Anu Radha and Sumit Osmand Shaw.

Polish Delegation

Polish projects at FilmBazaar will be presented by an official delegation, which includes Bogdan Zdrojewski, Poland’s Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Izabela Kiszka-Hoflik, Head of the International Cooperation Department at the Polish Film Institute, screenwriter Wojciech Lepianka, director Dorota Kędzierzawska, producer and cinematographer Arthur Reinhart, as well as producers Roman Jędrkowiak, Maria Krauss, and Krzysztof Sołek.

Polish Elements in Festival Lineup

Audiences at the International Film Festival of India will have an opportunity to see Wszystkie kobiety Mateusza (All Mateusz’s Women) by Artur Więcek, who will be a guest at the festival. The festival lineup also features Zabić bobra (To Kill a Beaver), the latest film from director Jan Jakub Kolski, and a Q&A session with director Krzysztof Zanussi.

International Film Festival of India

The International Film Festival of India is a FIAPF accredited competitive feature film festival, and is one of the top film events in Asia. The festival is focused on showcasing the film trends in world cinema. At the 41st edition of the festival, Magdalena Boczarska received the Best Actress award for her performance in Różyczka (Little Rose) by Jan Kidawa-Błoński, a film co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
