Polish Films in Munich

On October 14, the Ahoj Nachbarn association will organize a film event in the “Servus Polska!” series of events promoting Polish culture in Munich. This event will be a presentation of short films from the latest edition of the Polish-German “filMost 2010” project, made in co-operation with the Cultural Collective of the Gdańsk University (Kolektyw Kulturalny Uniwersytetu Gdańskiego).

This film project, with “Let’s take cultural goods across the border instead of cars and cheap shopping!” as its motto, visited Leipzig, Dresden, Poznań, and Gdańsk in early July. Each city had screenings of Polish and German short films, focusing on several subjects: old age, relationships, youth, and everyday life. The film project organizers chose this form, seeing it as an excellent opportunity for fostering a debate among young people regarding relations between the two countries. This trip through various Polish and German cities was also brought on by the idea of promoting the achievements of young filmmakers.

Films from this year’s edition of the FilMost project will screen at the Die Repüblik club in Munich.

The event is supported by the General Consulate of the Republic of Poland in Munich.
