Polish Films in Palm Springs
The lineup of the 19th Palm Springs International ShortFest, which opened on June 18, features six films by Polish filmmakers. The festival runs through June 24.
This year’s edition of the festival features 330 films selected among over 3,000 submissions. 70 of these films will have their world premieres in Palm Springs, while the festival lineup will feature films from 49 countries around the world. All selections are structured into 53 programmes.

- The Big Leap, directed by Kristoffer Rus
- Życie stylem dowolnym (Freestyle Life), directed by Adam Palenta
- Magma, directed by Paweł Maślona
- Dróżnik (The Railway Watchman), directed by Piotr Szczepanowicz
- Toto, directed by Zbigniew Czapla
The Palm Springs festival is among the selected film events whose awards make winners eligible for the Academy Awards. Past winners in Palm Springs include Kamil Polak, whose animated film Świteź (The Lost Town of Świteź) received the Grand Prize in the festival’s Animated Film Competition in 2011.
