Polish Films in Pusan

A total of six Polish feature films will screen at this year’s 15th edition of the Pusan International Film Festival in South Korea. The festival runs from October 7 through October 15. The “Flash Forward” competition for first- and second-time directors from outside Asia will include Erratum by Marek Lechki.

The Pusan International Film Festival is one of Asia’s key film events. It is aimed at presenting new films from around the world (with a focus on Asian cinema), and places special emphasis on first-time filmmakers presenting their works. Festival sections include: “Window on Asian Cinema” (a section dedicated to promoting works by talented Asian filmmakers); “New Currents” (films by first- and second-time filmmakers from Asia); “Korean Cinema Today”; “Korean Cinema Retrospective”; “Wide Angle” (a section dedicated to short films, animated films, documentaries, and experimental film projects), and finally “Midnight Passion” (nighttime screenings of films from various genres).

One of the key festival sections is “World Cinema”, dedicated entirely to contemporary film trends around the world. Five Polish films will screen in this section: the Polish-Swedish co-production Dwa Ognie (Between Two Fires) by Agnieszka Łukasik, Maraton tańca (Dance Marathon) by Magdalena Łazarkiewicz, Różyczka (Little Rose) by Jan Kidawa-Błoński, Trzy minuty. 21:37 (Three Minutes. 21:37) by Maciej Ślesicki, and Jutro będzie lepiej (Tomorrow Will Be Better) by Dorota Kędzierzawska.
