The lineup of this year’s Sydney Film Festival features two Polish films: Nieulotne (Lasting) by Jacek Borcuch and Fuck for Forest by Michał Marczak.

Two Polish Films in Festival Lineup

The 60th edition of the Sydney Film Festival was launched on June 5. The lineup of the festival’s various sections features two Polish films. The showcase of feature film projects will include two screenings of Nieulotne (Lasting), the latest film by director Jacek Borcuch. The festival website describes this film in the following words: “Using a simple love story at the core, Borcuch has made a sophisticated and complex film that lingers long after it ends.” The section for international documentary films will include Fuck for Forest by Michał Marczak, also with two screenings in Sydney.

Burning Bush

On June 8, the Sydney Film Festival will also screen Agnieszka Holland’s three-part series Burning Bush. The festival statement describes this project as follows: “Holland brilliantly captures the transformations occurring in Czech society at the time, the spirit of resistance and the gradual resignation in fear of harsher persecution. With a top-notch cast, exquisite cinematography and production design, and its moving portrayal of a struggle against injustice, Burning Bush makes for captivating viewing.”
