POLISH-ISRAELI PROJECT WINS AT TORINO FILMLAB

AA, a Polish-Israeli project by director Jack Faber (produced by Extreme Emotions), received an award at the eighth edition of Torino FilmLab, a side event of the Torino IFF.

Jury members Alberto Barbera, Paula Astorga, Benjamin Domenech, Atiq Rahimi and Fien Troch gave the World Production award to five new productions, including the latest project by László Nemes (director of Son of Saul). Produced by Ewa Puszczyńska, AA received the jury prize of 50,000 euros and the audience award (30,000 euros).

AA is the feature debut by Israeli-born director Jack Faber. The director developed his idea at the Berlinale Talent Script Station and within the EKRAN programme of Wajda Studio, and the project was later presented at the fourth edition of Polish Days in Wrocław. The film is set on the last day of a visit of Israeli youth to Holocaust remembrance sites in Poland. The majority producer is Polish company Extreme Emotions.
