Polish participant in the prestigious Producers on the Move program

Selected by the Polish Film Institute, Beata Rzeźniczek (Madants) will take part in the Producers on the Move 2021 program, organized by European Film Promotion. The Polish producer is among 20 European producers who will present their projects. This year, program will take place in a hybrid form: online (May 17-21) and in Cannes (July 8-12).

Producers on the Move is a program designed for producers with achievements in international co-productions. Participation is aimed at broadening industry knowledge and creating a network of contacts that have an increasing impact on European cinematography. The producers participate in project pitchings, 1:1 meetings and case studies. So far, the programme’s meetings took place during the Cannes International Film Festival, which this year was postponed to July due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Apart from Beata Rzeźniczek, the Producers on the Move program will be attended by: Annabella Nezri (Belgium), Nikolay Mutafchiev (Bulgaria), Bojan Kanjera (Croatia), Marek Novák (Czech Republic), Kasper Dissing (Denmark), Jean-Christophe Reymond (France), Maite Woköck (Germany), Sára László (Hungary), Ruth Treacy (Ireland), Marica Stocchi (Italy), Iris Otten (Netherlands), Gary Cranner (Norway), Tathiani Sacilotto (Portugal), Bianca Oana (Romania), Katarína Tomková (Slovakia), Andraž Jerič (Slovenia), Clara Nieto (Spain), Nima Yousefi (Sweden) and Sarah Born (Switzerland).

Since 2015, Beata Rzeźniczek with Klaudia Śmieja-Rostworowska and Bogna Szewczyk have been co-creating the Madants company, which was responsible for the production of „Charlatan” by Agnieszka Holland, „High Life” by Claire Denis, and „Silent Twins” – the first English-language film by Agnieszka Smoczyńska, which is currently in production. Beata Rzeźniczek’s co-production credits also includes such films as: „Under the Tree”(2017, dir. Hafsteinn Gunnar Sigurdsson), „The Best Fireworks Ever” (2017, dir. Aleksandra Terpińska), „Pity” (2018, dir. Babis Makridis) , „The River” (2018, dir. Emir Baigazin), „The Garden” (2020, dir. Ragnar Bragason) and „Other People” (2021, dir. Aleksandra Terpińska).

Previously, producers representing Poland in this program were: Mariusz Włodarski, Maria Blicharska, Agnieszka Kurzydło, Klaudia Śmieja, Mikołaj Pokromski, Marta Plucińska, Małgorzata Staroń and Marta Habior. PFI covers the cost of participation in the program and co-finances the producer’s trip under the Operational Program: Promotion of Polish Film Abroad; Priority: Foreign Scholarships.
