Punto y Raya: Poles in Competition

The Punto y Raya experimental film competition, taking place this year at the Reina Sofía National Museum in Madrid, includes two films by Polish filmmakers: p.e.r.f.o.r.m.a.n.c.e. by Karolina Głusiec (representing the United Kingdom), and AE by Marcin Giżycki.

The Punto y Raya festival is an event for abstract cinema that tries to bring audiences out of conventional processes of perception. By screening films that “reach other dimensions”, the festival hosts try to search for new methods of representing art, thought, and science.

The selection committee chose 109 among the total of 368 submitted works for screening in competition. The festival will run from November 3 through November 6, 2011.
