"Reverse" Recommended for EFA

Members of the European Film Academy together with EFA Productions gGmbH published a selection list of Europe’s 46 best films. Published on September 9, the selection list features titles of films recommended for consideration for the European Film Awards. The Polish candidate for this year’s European Film Award is Rewers (Reverse) by Borys Lankosz.

Several other films on the list of 46 are linked to Poland in one way or another. One of the films competing for Best European Film is The Ghost Writer by Roman Polański. Three other nominated films feature Polish actresses in the lead roles: the Czech feature 3 sezony v pekle (3 Seasons in Hell) by Tomáš Mašin, starring Karolina Gruszka; the Norwegian film Upperdog by Sara Johnsen, starring Agnieszka Grochowska; and the Irish production Ondine by Neil Jordan, starring Alicja Bachleda-Curuś.

In weeks to come, 2,300 members of the European Film Academy will receive forms for voting on nominations in various award categories. The complete list of nominations will be announced on November 6 at the Seville European Film Festival. The 23rd European Film Awards gala will be held in Tallinn on December 4.
