Exhibition on Polański in Dresden

The ‘Roman Polański. Actor. Director’ exhibition, co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, opened on May 4, 2013 at the Ignacy Kraszewski Museum in Dresden.

From May 4 until September 1

Curated by the Museum of Cinematography in Łódź, the ‘Roman Polański. Actor. Director’ exhibition showcases the works of one of Poland’s most acclaimed and internationally recognized filmmakers, and has been shown around the world for the past few years. In Germany, the exhibition was previously on show in Berlin and Düsseldorf. From May 4 through September 1, the ‘Roman Polański. Actor. Director.’ exhibition will be open to visitors in Dresden.

Roman Polański: Posters and Photographs

The museum houses the world’s largest collection of posters for Polański’s films. Parts of this collection will be on exhibition, along with a unique set of photographs showing Roman Polański at work on the sets of his films. The photographs are from the director’s own archive. The exhibition will also feature the unveiling of a statue of Roman Polański, made by make-up artist Waldemar Pokromski, who collaborated with Polański on many of his films.

The exhibition has been co-financed by the Polish Film Institute and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, and is curated by Krystyna Zamysłowska and Piotr Kulesza of the Museum of Cinematography in Łódź.
