Six Polish Films in Istanbul

 

Six Polish films will screen at the 30th Istanbul International Film Festival. The event will run from April 2 through 17.

 

Młyn i krzyż (The Mill and the Cross) by Lech Majewski will screen in the Istanbul Film Festival’s International Competition, while Essential Killing by Jerzy Skolimowski and The Way Back by Peter Weir, co-produced by Poland, will screen in the ‘Challenging the Years’ section of the festival – a section that showcases the latest films by acclaimed directors from around the world.

 

Krótki film o zabijaniu (A Short Film About Killing) by Krzysztof Kieśowski will screen in the special retrospective section called ’30 Years in Cinema’.

 

The young generation of Polish filmmakers will be represented by Marek Lechki’s Erratum, screening in the ‘Young Masters’ section, and Made in Poland by Przemysłw Wojcieszek, screening in the section known as ‘Mined Zone’. Wojcieszek will be in attendance at the Istanbul Film Festival.
