Szumowska wins Tarnów Film Award

The jury of the 23rd Tarnów Film Award festival, with Dorota Kędzierzawska acting as chairman, awarded the festival’s Grand Prix to Małgorzata Szumowska for 33 Scenes from Life (33 sceny z życia).

 

The Special Award, funded by “Kino Polska” television, was given to Dariusz Jabłoński, director of Strawberry Wine (Wino truskawkowe). The Special Award-KinoRP was given to Xawery Żuławski for the artistic interpretation of prose by Dorota Masłowska into a language of contemporary cinema in the film Snow White and Russian Red (Wojna polsko-ruska).

The Youth Jury awarded Małgorzata Szumowska with the Cameraman Statuette, and the Children’s Jury awarded the film Grzyby burzy by Jan Steliżuk with the Cock Award. The Audience Award was given to Little Moscow (Mała Moskwa) by Waldemar Krzystek.

The festival was co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
