"The Domino Effect" Awarded

Efekt domina (The Domino Effect), a feature documentary directed by Elwira Niewiera and Piotr Rosołowski and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, received the Interreligious Prize at the Visions du Réel festival in Nyon, Switzerland.

Jury members Jean-Jacques Cunnac, Amir Hafner-Al Jabaji, Brigitta Rotach and Serge Molla said in the jury statement: “This film challenges how to live together, focused on a Russian artist and the Abkhazian Minister for Sport. Their relationship mirrors local social and political tensions. Involved in reconstructing Abkhazia and their love, Natasha and Rafael open trails for an intercultural dialogue.”

Polish Premiere at the Krakow Film Festival

Efekt domina (The Domino Effect) had its world premiere at Visions du Réel on April 27. The film then screened in the ‘Love, Factually’ section of the Hot Docs festival in Toronto. The Polish premiere is to take place at the end of May at the Krakow Film Festival, where The Domino Effect will screen in both the international competition and the Polish competition. In 2013, The Domino Effect was one of the projects presented within the framework of the Docs to go! initiative of the Polish Film Institute and the Krakow Film Foundation at the 53rd Krakow Film Festival.
