The decision was made by a seven-person Oscar Committee chaired by producer Ewa Puszczyńska. The information was provided at a press conference at the Polish Film Institute.

“EO”

This Polish-Italian co-production tells the story of a donkey in an increasingly complex reality. Passed from hand to hand, the animal meets both good and bad people on its way. The story is a cinematic allegory, and the title of the film alludes to the sound that donkeys make. The picture has already received the Jury Prize in Cannes, has been included in competitions at major festivals in Toronto and Gdynia, and was also the opening film of New Horizons in Wrocław.

Ewa Piaskowska is the co-author of the script, along with Jerzy Skolimowski. The authors of the photos are: Michał Dymek, Michał Englert and Paweł Edelman, production manager Tomasz Morawski, and Agnieszka Glińska is responsible for the editing. The cast of the film includes, among others Lorenzo Zurzolo, Sandra Drzymalska, Mateusz Kościukiewicz and Tomasz Organek.
