„The Zone of Interest” with two awards from Alliance of Woman Film Journalists

„The Zone of Interest” by Jonathan Glazer has just received two EDA Awards from the Alliance of Women Film Journalists. Polish-British-American co-production, co-financed by Polish Film Institute, was honoured in the most important categories: Best Film and Best International Film.

„The Zone of Interest” is winning additional prizes. Jonathan Glazer’s film, dealing with a true story of commander of Auchwitz-Birkenau Camp, Rudolf Hoss and his family, was just awarded by the Alliance of Women Film Journalists – a non-profit organization, whose members are female film journalists. This year there are 84 members. The organization has been awarding movies since 2007. In recent year’s AWJF has awarded Polish film „IDA” by Paweł Pawlikowski in the Best Non-English Feature (previous name of the Best International Feature) category.

This year the Polish-British-American co-production has been named the Best International Feature, alongside the most coveted award – Best Film. Additionally, „The Zone of Interest” has been nominated in six other categories: Best Director (Jonathan Glazer), Best Adapted Screenplay (Jonathan Glazer), Best Cinematography (Łukasz Żal), Best Editing (Paul Watts) and Best Supporting Actress (Sandra Huller). The performance of the German actress was also considered in the Most Daring Performance category.
