Three Polish Films in Locarno

Three Polish films made this year’s Locarno International Film Festival lineup. The Locarno International Film Festival is one of the world’s most prestigious film events and is accredited by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF).

The International Competition will screen the Belgian-Polish co-production Beyond the Steppes by Vanja d’Alcantara, featuring a Polish cast: Agnieszka Grochowska, Aleksandra Justa, and Borys Szyc. The film’s Polish producer is Akson Studio.

The International Short Film Competition will screen Igor Chojna’s Przez szybę (Through the Glass), produced by the Łódź Film School.

The Open Doors Screenings section of the festival will feature Podarok Stalinu (The Gift to Stalin) by Rustem Abdrashev. The film is a co-production between Kazakhstan, Israel, Poland, and Russia.

The 63rd Locarno International Film Festival will run from August 4 to 14.
