Three TVP Films Awarded in NYC

Three films produced by TVP received awards at this year’s 53rd edition of the prestigious New York Festivals competition for television production. Czas honoru (Days of Honor), the television series by Michał Kwieciński, Michał Rosa and Wojciech Wójcik, produced by TVP2, received the Silver Medal in the Action/Adventure category, while two TVP1 documentaries received Gold Medals – Paweł Łoziński’s Chemia (Chemo) won in the Health/Medical Information category, and Amerykanin w PRL (An American in Communist Poland) by Piotr Morawski and Ryszard Kaczyński in the History & Society category. Another three projects produced by TVP (Londyńczycy by Greg Zgliński and Maciej Migas, Radegast by Borys Lankosz, and Komix made for TVP Kultura by Mateusz Szlachtycz) received special mention as finalists.

 

The awards ceremony was held on May 3 at the American Airlines Theater on Times Square, in the heart of New York City. The event was attended by over 150 top television producers and representatives of television stations from around the world. Other winning projects include films produced by Australia’s ABC, Austria’s ORF, Canada’s CBC, China’s CCTV and Phoenix, the UK’s BBC, ITV, and Bloomberg, France’s ARTE, Germany’s RBB, ZDF, and WDR, Ireland’s RTE, Japan’s NHK, South Korea’s KBS, Spain’s  TVE, and the United States’ CBS, CNN, Discovery, HBO, Sundance Channel, and NBC.
