World Premiere of The Dog Hill

Grzegorz Zariczny’s film Marysina polana (The Dog Hill), produced by the Andrzej Wajda Master School of Film Directing, will have its world premiere at this year’s edition of the Vision du Reel film festival in Nyon, Switzerland.

The Dog Hill is the story of four shepherds who spend six months in mountain pastures, away from civilization; their days are filled by herding and milking sheep. The job brings them closer together; they start to open up to one another, talk about serious matters. Although each is a different age, and at a different point in life, there is one topic that they all have in common – women.

The Dog Hill was produced as part of the Wajda School Documentary Course.

The film will screen in the “Regards Neufs” section of the Swiss festival. “Regards Neufs” focuses on works by young filmmakers and often serves as the first opportunity for them to show their project to industry professionals and a wide international audience. The Dog Hill will have two screenings: on April 18 and 20, at the World Dreams Capitole cinema.

Grzegorz Zariczny is a graduate of the course in documentary filmmaking at the Wajda Film School. Currently he is a student at the Krzysztof Kieślowski Radio and Television Department of the University of Silesia. In addition to The Dog Hill, he has made several feature and documentary student films.

This year’s 16th edition of the Vision du Reel international film festival will take place from April 15 to 21 in Nyon, Switzerland. Vision du Reel is considered to be one of Europe’s most prestigious documentary film festivals. At last year’s edition of the festival, the “Regards Neufs” section also saw the international premiere of Academy Award-nominated Królik po berlińsku (Rabbit a la Berlin) by Bartek Konopka.
