Czerwony Kapitan (The Red Captain), a Czech-Slovak-Polish co-production directed by Michal Kollár and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, was released theatrically in the Czech Republic and Slovakia on March 10, 2016.
2016 POLISH FILM AWARDS: "BODY/CIAŁO" WINS BEST FILM
Małgorzata Szumowska's Body/Ciało (Body) was voted Best Polish Film at the Polish Film Awards, also winning awards for Best Director, Best Actress (Maja Ostaszewska) and Best Actor (Janusz Gajos). Janusz Majewski's Excentrycy, czyli po słonecznej stronie ulicy (The Eccentrics. The Sunny Side of the Street) also received a total of four awards.

At the closing ceremony of the 66th Berlin International Film Festival, Tomasz Wasilewski - writer and director of Zjednoczone Stany Miłości (United States of Love) - received the Silver Bear Award for Best Screenplay.

ANDRZEJ ŻUŁAWSKI DIES AT 75
Andrzej Żuławski, acclaimed director, screenwriter, writer, passed away on 17 February at the age of 75, following a long illness. Żuławski was the director of award-winning films, including Trzecia część nocy (The Third Part of the Night), Diabeł (The Devil), Possession, Szamanka (Shaman), Fidelity, and Cosmos.
"Crache Coeur" in French Cinemas
Feature debut directed by Julia Kowalski and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute Crache Coeur (Raging Rose, Znam kogoś, kto cię szuka) was released theatrically on February 17 in France.
POLISH PRESENCE AT 66TH BERLINALE
The 66th Berlin International Film Festival runs from February 11 through February 21, 2016. The festival lineup features several films co-financed by the Polish Film Institute. The festival will also host a number of events related to Polish cinema.
